Story behind the story

October 18th, 2005 by mhjones

Cameron Reilly’s flying the Aussie flag at BlogOn, can caught this conversation: Steve choked Mena up when he told her that she changed his life. He said that his discovery of Typepad totally changed his career and his profile in the PR community. It was a great movement. (Err, was that a typo Cam? ;)

Meanwhile, Kevin Maney at USA Today offers this on the Web 2.0 conference: At this conference, a handful of Microsoft execs sat on stage for a panel discussion after dinner. The vast room of attendees started talking with each other, laughing among themselves and generally behaving like high schoolers when they have a substitute teacher. [Link via Trevor Cook]

So the latest round of blog/podcast/web 2.0 conversations highlights a significant trend. Web 2.0 companies like Mena’s Typepad (host of this blog) are "changing lives" while Microsoft’s become the laughing stock.

ah yes, a typo. :-) It was a great MOMENT. I can’t say any movements took place… that I was aware of, anyway. :-)
